PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

The Canadian-built Camaro continues as one of the top-selling
sports car in the under $30,000 range.   In both coupe and
convertible models, the Camaro provides great performance
and handling at a competitive price.

NEW FOR 1998:

* New front end modifications (new hood, fenders and front  fascia with composite headlamps)
* New 305-horsepower "LS1" Gen III 5.7L V8 engine provides performance and fuel economy gains
* New Camaro SS performance and appearance package (V8 only)
* RS appearance package (V6 only)
* New 5-spoke 17" aluminum wheel
* New transmission case for 3.8L V6 to reduce noise and vibration
* New larger V8 torque converter for heat and fuel economy improvements

* Four-wheel disc brakes now standard on both V6- and V8- equipped models

1992 - Camaro celebrates 25 years
1993 - All-new, fourth-generation Camaro introduced; new 3.4-litre V6 standard on Camaro, and 5.7- litre LT1 V8 standard on Z28; dual air bags and anti-lock brakes introduced
1994 - Two new models: Camaro Convertible and Z28 Convertible for mid-year introduction; LT1 V8 engine receives sequential-port fuel injection; ASR traction control becomes available
1995 - Available 200-hp, 3.8-litre Series II "3800" V6 ASR traction control becomes available
1996 - 3.8L Series II 3800 V6 becomes standard base engine, replacing 3.4L DOHC V6 engine; Camaro Z28 SS performance package introduced mid- year (the "SS" designation returns after 24-year absence)
1997 - Special 30th Anniversary Z28 introduced; new instrument panel and floor console with auxiliary power outlet and four cupholders; new 200-watt sound system (coupes only); new uplevel 5-spoke wheels and international-style tri-colour tail lamp; automatic transmission now standard with Z28
1998 - Front-end modifications, including new hood, fenders and fascia; new 305-hp LS1 Gen III V8 engine; new Camaro SS package; four-wheel disc brakes now standard on all models
