CAMARO Z28 DRAG RACER - FIRE-BREATHING PERFORMER

Since its introduction in 1967, Camaro has stood for fire-breathing performance - off the track and on. The Camaro Z28 drag racer continues that tradition.

Its heart and soul is derived from the 7.0-liter (427 cid) aluminum V-8 engine. It develops 723 horsepower at 7400 rpm and 579 lbs.-ft. of torque at 6200 rpm. This special V-8 features aluminum cylinder heads from the current-generation Corvette and a Coan high-stall torque converter.

Other features designed to maximize this drag racer's performance are cylinder head gaskets made of copper, with machined O-ring and receiver grooves; enhanced intake and exhaust ports; a Competition Cams mechanical roller camshaft; Isky mechanical roller followers and Jessel roller rocker arms.

Camaro Z28 drag racer's performance is transferred to the rear wheels via a Coan turbo 350 transmission with manual shift control and trans brake.

Camaro drag racer also features a Strange Engineering solid rear axle with a 5.13:1 final drive ratio; a one-piece steel prop shaft; an independent coil-over-shock SLA front suspension and a four-link coil-over-shock rear suspension.

Bringing Camaro drag racer to a complete stop is the Strange Engineering drag brake system with line lock. This special Camaro is shod with M/T 27.5 x 4.5-inch E/T drag tires in the front and 31 x 10.5-inch E/T slicks in back. These are mounted on Monocque aluminum wheels - 15 x 4-inch in the front and 15 x 11-inch at the rear.

Camaro drag racer is finished in a bright yellow exterior paint scheme with red and bright blue accents.
